Q. What is a IAQ Assessment/Mould inspection?

A.
An IAQ Assessment/Mould Inspection is a series of tests and a physical visual inspection of the building(s). Some of the testing services we offer include, air testing, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, mould testing, radon, voc's, etc. It is also very important to conduct an indoor air quality interview with the occupants/employees of the building to obtain client history and site history.


Q. When Do I Need An IAQ Assessment/Mould Inspection?

A.
When you are getting ready to purchase a home,(New or Resale).
    When doing renovation work to your home or office.
    When you have had a moisture problem.
    When you are sick all the time, (Flu,cold like symptoms).
    In your office area, if there has never been one done.
    If you have never had a IAQ Assessment/Mould Inspection.
    When buying an existing business.
    When opening a new business. 


Q. How Long Does A IAQ Assessment/Mould Inspection Take?

A.
It depends on the size and age of the building. We typically spend 1.5 to 2 hrs. on a house up to about 2000 sq ft. On commercial sites this can take much longer depending on the number of offices, floors, etc.


Q. How Much Does A IAQ Assessment/Mould Inspection Cost?

A. On houses up to 2000 sq ft the cost typically runs just a little more than a Home Inspection. Each job is priced on a individual bases and depends on how long and how many tests are to be taken.


Q. What Type of Report Should I Expect?

A.
The IAQ Assessment/Mould Inspection report should contain complete details of the field observations, lab test results, picture to confirm you inspected the correct location, interviews, results from non-lab tests that were performend, and recommendations on how to correct the problem(s).

The report can be emailed or presented in hard copy to the client. Once the client has their report the CMI (Certified IAQ/Mould Inspector) and client need to go over the report together so the client is clear on the findings and recommendation(s) to solve the issues.

Absolutley, It's extremley important to know the condition of your Indoor Air Quality. If there are any major issues this is the time to have then corrected. Most realtors want to know that their properties have been deemed safe and virtually free of environmental hazards. It's critical that lending agencies, banks, insurance companies and realtors understand how crucial a IAQ Assessment/Mould Inspection can be, not only to the owners, but to the occupants of those homes and workplaces.
